Bill Kenney is president of Phillips Eye Institute, a specialty hospital of Allina Hospitals & Clinics. Allina is a $3.0 billion integrated health system operating 11 hospitals and over 85 primary care and specialty clinics. Phillips Eye Institute is the nation’s third largest Joint Commission accredited Eye Hospital, serving over 15,000 patients each year with an active medical staff of 84. Bill is also president of the Phillips Eye Institute Foundation and provides executive oversight to Allina Medical Laboratories.
Prior to joining Allina, Bill worked in a variety of positions at Park Nicollet Health Services including Executive Vice President, Foundation; Senior Vice President, Primary Care; and Vice President, Primary Physician Network. Past positions also include Administrator of Northwestern University Medical School’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in Chicago, IL, and Administrator of HealthEast in St. Paul, MN.
Bill received his BA in Business Management and Social Work at St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN, and Master of Hospital and Health Care Administration at the University of Minnesota.
Bill has served on boards of St. Mary’s Clinics, St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Park Nicollet Foundation and Midtown Community Works Partnership. Bill’s professional affiliations include American Association of Eye and Ear Centers of Excellence, Medical Group Management Association, Rotary International, Administrators in Academic Psychiatry, American College of Healthcare Executives, American Hospital Association and Minnesota Hospital Association.
Bill resides in St. Paul with his wife Maggie Kilpatrick, a Human Resource Consultant, and their sons, Jack and Charlie.
