Timothy P. Herbert –President and CEO of Inspire Medical Systems, Inc. Mr. Herbert has over 25 years of experience in new business development, including the last 3 years at Inspire Medical Systems and prior to that, over 10 years at Medtronic, Inc. His previous assignment was in senior leadership of Marketing and Product Planning for the Medtronic’s Neurological Emerging Therapies business. Mr. Herbert has held management positions in product development, clinical research, regulatory, sales, marketing and healthcare reimbursement. He joined Medtronic in 1996 as Product Development Manager in the Medtronic Corporate Ventures business. Within two years, he assumed the leadership of the Upper Airway business with the core product being the Inspire system to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Mr. Herbert has been part of the Inspire business since 1996, assuming management of the venture in 1998. He has been responsible for the transition of the business from a corporate organic venture to a spin out business from Medtronic. With extensive experience in venture development, taking products from concept through commercial release, as well as his detailed knowledge of the Inspire system, OSA disease state and the sleep diagnostic and therapeutic market; Mr. Herbert is well positioned to lead this Inspire organization.

Prior to Medtronic, Mr. Herbert spent 11 years at Alliant Techsystems, formerly Honeywell Defense, in the field of technical and program management. His last assignment at Alliant Techsystems was as Technical Director and Program Manager for a development stage international turnkey system. Mr. Herbert has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Dakota State University, and a Master of Business Administration from St. Thomas University.
